A reminder about our annual Summer Celebration (as shared with parents via the summer newsletter sent by email before half-term).  This year, our theme is the 80th anniversary of VE day, and the freedoms we have enjoyed since the end of World War 2.

This will take place on the outdoor stage, with the audience watching from the playground.

Parents are welcome to bring their own chairs, although there will also be some rows of benches provided.

Our PTA, with special guests from Born to Perform, will be serving refreshments - please bring cash for this.

RUNNING ORDER:

2.30p.m. - Choir from YR to Y6 will sing a medley of WW2 songs

Followed by Year 6, singing "We'll Meet Again".

All other classes will be dancing to a song from the decades we've been able to enjoy, since the end of the war, in the following order:

1960s: Year 2

1970s: Year 4

1980s: Year 3

1990s: Year 5

2000s: Year 1

2010s: Reception

The children will be coming from their classrooms to perform, as they will have already watched our dress rehearsal.  This means that the playground gate can remain open during the performance, leaving parents/carers free to come and go at times that work for you.  Each class will perform for around 5 minutes, but it isn't possible to give exact timings for this.

We envisage that the full performance will last around 45-50 minutes, coinciding with the end of the school day.

Wet weather contingency plan

If the weather looks very wet, the performance will take place in the hall, with the audience standing to watch.

We look forward to welcoming you to school on Friday afternoon.
